On March 22, 2018, the third meeting of the Georgia-EU Civil Society Platform was held at the Georgian Strategy and International Relations Research Foundation. The Civil Society Platform is based on Article 412 of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union. Its purpose is to monitor the implementation of the agreement, develop recommendations and deliver them to the highest level of cooperation between EU and Georgia institutions, governments and parliaments. The third meeting of the platform was opened by Kakha Gogolashvili, Co-Chair of the Georgia-EU Civil Society Platform, and Andrei Adamchik, Member of the European Economic and Social Committee, who is also Co-Chair of the Platform. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze and the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Janos Herman spoke about the implementation process of the Georgia-EU Association Agreement. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the member organizations of the Georgian National Platform of the EU and the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, which are members of the said platform. Attendees discussed issues related to the implementation of the agreement, presented reports assessing the ongoing reforms in the field of small business support and food safety. A joint statement was issued at the event, which assessed the implementation process of the Association Agreement and the relevant recommendations.
